Watchlist · National-level signals

Emerging pests

A watchlist of emerging quarantine pests reported near our growing regions — coarse national-level signals, not yet a regional forecast.

Where we are here

National & coarse

EPPO and national plant-protection bodies report a pest the first time it is found in a country or region. That tells us a pest has arrived and roughly where — but it is sparse, lags reality, and is far too coarse to model how it will spread.

  • Country / region first-reports
  • Updated occasionally, not live
  • No greenhouse-level detail

→ We can show detections. We cannot honestly forecast spread.

Where Pest Radar is heading

Regional & live

The Westland forecast prototype works at the opposite resolution: a cluster of greenhouses, trap counts per week, local weather, and short-range diffusion. That density is what makes an actual forecast — hotspots, risk and uncertainty cones — possible.

  • Greenhouse-cluster scale
  • Weekly traps + live weather
  • Short-range spread modelling
